Symposium: WATCHED!

Öppen för allmänheten

Welcome to the research symposium 'WATCHED! Surveillance Art & Photography in Europe post 9/11' at Valand Academy, 7-8 October.

_

As surveillance has become a constitutive part of contemporary social life, new forms of discrimination and segregation have emerged, but also perhaps new means of empowerment and "sousveillance".

How can art and visual theory contribute to the understanding of our current surveillance society? During a 2-day public research symposium, artists and scholars will present work on surveillance and its relation to representation, migration, community and control.
