Situated in the centre of Gothenburg, our department and the activities we pursue are an integral part of the city's cultural life. We are also extensively networked internationally with partners all over the world.

Valand Academy is one of the departments at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, which is Scandinavia's largest arts Faculty - offering a unique breadth of skills and competencies in artistic subjects.

Valand to merge with HDK

Valand Academy merging with our sister department, HDK Academy of Design and Crafts, in January 2020, is something you know already, right? And that's when we'll be forming a new department - and accommodating Design and Crafts too.
