Freestanding Courses in English

Freestanding courses are available at undergraduate and graduate levels, in all four subjects. A course is between five weeks long to a full semester. Some are full-time while others are part-time or distance courses.

Spring courses 2020

Commissioning and Curating Contemporary Public Art (Distance course)
What is the nature of public art? What do the policy-makers, commissioners, curators, artists and other specialists working with public art need to know about this rapidly changing and expanded field of practice? What, if any, are the possible relationships between public art and local democracy? These are some of the basic questions that this course tries to answer.

Summer courses 2019

Application period for summer: 20 February - 15 March 2019.

Introduction to Contemporary Arts and Politics (Distance course)
This is a course for you who are interested in the interaction between questions of politics and questions of art. Together we will look at examples of art that raise political questions or contribute to our political imaginary.

Individual Project Work 3 is a course for you who already have some experience of studying an artistic subject (e.g. fine art, photography, film) at university level, and are interested to do an intensive period of practical and reflective work during the summer.

Photography project (Distance course) is a course where you work on an independent photographic project. During the course a great emphasis is placed on the discussion on photography and the creative process.
