Research Day

WHY DO WE DO THIS?

We have given one day of each year over to presentations by artists, teachers and researchers working here in Akademin Valand.

We have asked all teachers and programme students to come along and discuss this artistic and research work being done by colleagues here in Akademin.

We do this so that students, teachers and researchers can share ideas about research, practice, ideas, values and practice.

We do this because we are a community of people interested in the work of artists, photographers, filmmakers, authors, poets, critics, curators, educators, and practitioners of many different kinds.

It is a chance to see our colleagues in a new light.

It is also a chance to share a wide range of ideas and concerns that are pursued by teachers, practitioners and researchers who have a lot of experience both inside and outside the academy.

The Research Day allows us to share those concerns that are often experienced as private and individual but have the potential to connect with others in the institution.

The Research Day is a day of celebrating the wealth of talent and experience in the Academy.
